Busy Day(s)

I think the reason I'm most looking forward to summer is the slow pace. Yesterday I got up, got Ryan off to school, got Lily loaded up and headed to the church to pick up some supplies. I had a Bible Study meeting at 9:30 and a church play date at the playground at 11:30. The supplies mentioned earlier were for the play date. I was in charge of the craft. After the playground we came home and I logged on to a live webcast about homeschooling. During a lull in the action I grabbed some lunch for myself and Lily. The webcast ended and less than 5 minutes later Ryan got home. I gave him some advice on his animal project and he worked on it for a little while. It was around this time that I realized I was hosting play group the next morning. Cleaning supplies, here I come. Luckily I knew I was going to have to meet Jay to drop his car off for some work, so I had planned on going out to eat. Our one night out this month came pretty early, but I'm so glad for it. We ate at Buffalo Wild Wings. When we got home it was kid bed time/ adult cleaning time. A quick run tot he store for coffee, tea and snacks for the morning and then it was adult bedtime. It was a looooong day, but full of good stuff.

I was glad to have playgroup at my house this morning because it meant we had something to do for half of my car-less day. It was good to see some old friends even if I didn't get a chance to chat for long because I was too busy playing hostess. I always got on my grandmother for spending all her time in the kitchen during events. Now I understand. Maybe I'll get better at hosting as I go along. I should work on that. This afternoon I've been working on some projects and catching up on e-mails. in a few minutes I'll start dinner. Somehow we will pick up Jay's car and tonight I am going to relax.

Tomorrow will be better. I just got the picture I've been waiting for, so I'll finish a gift project I'm dong for a friend and maybe run it out to him. Ryan had gymnastics in the afternoon and we need to finish his animal project because it's going to be another busy weekend. Okay, maybe tomorrow won't be any better, ugh!

It's not so much that I'm dreading all these things. They are all great things. It's just the constant "go"ing that I don't like so much. I love spring and all the wonderful activities it brings, but I'm glad for the different seasons and that summer is a season of rest.
