Uncle Ben

I thought I'd post a picture of Uncle Ben with Ryan. Maybe he will get to see it before he leaves. Ryan won't get to see him again until the end of the summer. If he can squeeze seeing us in to his short time home before he has to get back to Cornell!

Weekend

This weekend was busy. Friday Ben came over for dinner. We watched Mater and Commander it was ok, but a little unsatisfying. Then Ben, Jay and I stayed up very, very late talking. It was a good talk though. Ben stayed over and played a computer game with Jay for 5 hours on Saturday. Then it was time to get ready for our lovely date that Elizabee arranged for us as a birthday gift for Jay. She and John came over to babysit and we were off to the Inner Harbor for a dinner cruise. Sunday Jay got up with the baby(what a nice husband!) I didn't get to sleep in much more though. Ryan woke up at 9(I guess he was pretty tired) and I have to get up at 9:30 for church. After church Jay played games with Zach, Ryan took a nap and I worked on my scrapbook. Sunday was a very good day! I also cleaned up the basement a little. We are going to make it into a pseudo-guest room. Then Jay's whole family came for dinner because it's the last chance we would all have to see Ben before he leaves for Camp Brookwoods. Now, Erin, do you see why I didn't get to post this weekend?!

Ryan stands on his own two feet!

Ryan is standing for brief periods of time on his own. I was finally able to catch it with the camera today:) This one shows him standing better, but I had to put up the other picture because it was so cute:) He's so fun! He's playing with Uncle Ben and Daddy right now. It sounds like they are having a good time.

Hypothesize this, Mom!

Ryan refuses to be part of any scientific experiment. Yesterday we went out about an hour before his normal nap time. He grabbed a little 15 minute cat nap in the car. The nap was enough for him to think he didn't need a real afternoon nap, but not enough to keep him from being fussy. He would not sleep until 7:45 when he went down for the night. And believe me I tried! He did sleep until 1:30AM when he got hungry. Then he went back to sleep and slept until 7:30. Not too bad. Certainly better than many other nights we've had. When I think about it two 6 hour stretches is actually pretty good. The only problem is that they didn't line up well with my sleep times last night. I guess we'll figure this out one day.
