My boy, Ryan, has a stubborn streak a mile wide...Well, okay two feet in this picture. Let me set this up for you. Ryan likes to wear Jay's new University of Maryland hat. Probably because he gets all kinds of attention and laughs when he does, but that's beside the point. Hats must make him think of outside, because he often puts one on and asks to go "ow sy". This time was no different. The only one around with shoes on was daddy. So daddy took him out on the porch for a minute. Apparently a minute wasn't long enough. This is what happened when Jay tried to walk in the door.
Oh boy

Sorry the focus is not good, but I thought it was hilarious.
It really captures the essence of his stubbornness, except for the fact that you can't see his face contorted and screaming. The hat fell over his face in the struggle.
It's really no mystery why he has this trait. He inherited it. He didn't have a chance really unless it's a recessive gene. I guess it's true that you get payback for all the stuff you did to your parents when you have your own kids. Oh boy are we in for it!

Laughing out loud! Oh how funny! What a great photo for the baby book. BTW, if Ryan takes after you, he may provide some challenges, but he'll grow up OK. You did.
Love you.
OH! We have the O-U-T problem as well. We had to put his cozy coupe car in the attic because he would literally stand next to it and cry. So pathetic and heartbreaking, but he doesn't understand you can not go outside in pjs at 8:00!
I just LOVE that picture! I think a genuinely sweet part of it is that Jay is smiling, despite his son's stubborness. Patient parents seem to have less stress...
