Zach's Snowman

Zach built his very own snowman on our back porch. He used his Valentine's Day M&Ms for the face. It looks like they don't just melt in your mouth...they melt in a snowman too. What's up with that?! Snow is by definition cold, so how could something that is not even supposed to melt in your hand melt in the snow?
