Jay and the Job

Well, some of you may know that Jay was interviewing for a new job. He wasn't looking, but an opportunity came to him, so he decided to check it out. A couple interviews...yada, yada, yada...and Jay has a new job. When his current company heard they put up a valiant effort to keep him, but he is still pretty sure he will be moving on. This new job is in Delaware, so it is a longer distance commute, but it should take the same amount of time that it took to go to Baltimore because the traffic should be lighter going north. He is pretty excited about the new opportunity. They want him to start on Sweet Pea's due date. They have agreed to allow him to take vacation right away, so that was pretty cool of them. Unfortunately he doesn't feel good about taking too much time off the old job before he leaves or taking too much time off in the beginning of his new job. Ugh. Thank goodness my mom is coming to stay with me when the baby is born! [She will probably be more helpful anyway]

Congrats to Jay on the new job! The timing is tough, but I'm sure it will work out for the best.

We're very pleased for Jay and your family...and if Jay's moving up in the world gives me a chance to feel useful, I say 'more power to him!'

Love you.

Generally speaking pregnancy can not be counted as a pre-existing condition-- bad public policy to limit access to prenatal care, but def. check that out!

It's actually not a problem because the new company has a policy not allowing you to join their health insurance for 3 months. They have agreed to reimburse us for the COBRA fees to stay on our current insurance until then.
