We had a good weekend. Friday was the first time in recent memory that we didn't have somewhere to be or someone to see. After we put the kids to bed Jay and I played a couple games of Othello. He soundly beat me the first time. The second game was looking better for me, but he pulled it out in the end and won again...grrr. It was fun to just be able to relax at home together. Saturday was great. Ryan let us sleep until almost 11! This was amazing. I thought when he woke up at 7 my day was going to have to start, but he fell asleep in bed with us. I got up before him! He stayed in bed with Jay while I got started on my day. Zach had a birthday party in Harve de Grace. Jay took him and they had a great time. Zach rode in a go kart, jumped in a moon bounce, shot water rockets, got lots of candy from a pinata and drove a little toy motor cycle and a toy car! I think Jay had just as much fun as Zach. He was chasing Zach around with a remote control car when I called him. For a good church of the time they were gone Ryan was taking a nap. It felt so relaxed and calm. I almost didn't know what to do. It was great! Saturday night we went to a couples only picnic for our small groups and Jay's mom watched the kids. Another very pleasant experience. The food was awesome and it was great to have time with adults. Sunday we went to church of course. We came home and Jay took a nap because he let me sleep in:-D The we went to "Welcome to Mountain" it's a class at our church to kind of give you an overview of the church. It was really good. I learned a cool saying they like to use about religion
In essetials unity,
In non-essentials liberty,
in all things love.
I thought that was really cool. They are trying to get back to the basics of Christianity. To have everyone understand that the true essentials list is very small-Jesus is our Lord and Savior, he died for our sins and is the Son of God. The rest of the things that tend divide us(doctrine, political issues, etc.) are important, but should not divide us. I thought that was really great. After the class we got home, put the boys to bed and relaxed:) We watched "Rundown" with "The Rock" I was highly skeptical, but I found myself enjoying it. It's not going to win any awards, but it's funny and has some good action scenes. So, to summarize it was a good, relaxing weekend.
